My camera is not visible or shows a black screen

If your camera does not appear or displays a black screen, the issue is usually related to browser permissions, camera conflicts, or privacy extensions. Follow the steps below to restore the camera feed.

Quick fixes #

  1. Reload the page:
    Refresh the recording page to reinitialize the camera connection.
  1. Reset camera permissions in the browser:
    Open the browser settings and reset camera access for dadan, then refresh the page and allow access again when prompted.
  1. Ensure only one app is using the camera:
    Close video conferencing tools or background apps (such as Zoom, Teams, or Meet). Most webcams can only be used by one application at a time.
  1. Disable privacy-related extensions:
    Temporarily turn off privacy or security extensions, as they may block webcam initialization.
  1. Switch the camera source:
    Inside the recorder, select a different camera input, then switch back to your preferred camera if needed.
