Getting started: first record #
The initial screen presents a clean camera preview or a friendly cue that your workspace is ready. A subtle tooltip gently reminds you to unmute your microphone if you plan to record narration or a talking-head video. Dadan supports hybrid recording modes (screen + webcam overlay).

Ratio #
Choose the aspect ratio best suited for your platform:
- Landscape for webinars and wide-screen content.
- Square for social feeds.
- Portrait for mobile-first viewing.
This feature ensures optimal display across various media, from wide-screen presentations to vertical social media clips. Options are presented in a sub-menu with clear previews, making it easy to choose the right format.
Available ratios #
- Landscape 16:9: Ideal for YouTube videos, webinars, and professional presentations. This wide format maximizes screen real estate, perfect for detailed demos or slideshows.

- Square 1:1: Suited for Instagram posts, Facebook ads, or social media feeds. Its balanced proportions work well for eye-catching, platform-friendly content.

- Portrait 9:16: Designed for TikTok Reels, YouTube Shorts, and mobile-first videos. This vertical format engages viewers on smartphones with a full-screen experience.

Background #
This feature personalizes your recording environment with minimalist solid colors, dynamic gradients, or themed image backdrops. It allows users to enhance recordings with customizable backdrops that complement their content. Also, it supports professional aesthetics or creative flair, integrating seamlessly with the Ratio and Layout settings. The interface offers a gallery and upload option for versatile customization.
Available options #
- Solid Colors: Choose from a palette (e.g., blue, green, gray) with adjustable opacity for a clean, professional look.

- Gradients: Select two-tone gradients (e.g., blue-to-white) to add depth to presentations or tutorials.

- Images: Upload personal images (JPG, PNG) or pick from preloaded options like office settings or nature scenes.

Layout #
Fine-tune your visual composition. The Edge-to-Edge option removes borders for a cinematic, full-bleed look, ideal for immersive storytelling. It lets users control the composition of webcam, screen, and background elements within the recording frame. This feature also enables dynamic arrangements for different content types, from full-screen demos to face-focused talks. The interface provides intuitive presets with live previews, ensuring professional framing without manual cropping.
Available layouts #
- Screen Only: Full-screen capture of your desktop or selected window. Ideal for software walkthroughs, slides, or code reviews.

- Webcam Only: Webcam feed centered on the chosen background. Perfect for talking-head videos, interviews, or personal messages.

- Side-by-Side: Splits the frame vertically, with the webcam on one side and the screen on the other. It includes many options for the camira vs screen positions. Great for live reactions or dual-presentation formats.
Picture-in-Picture (PIP) #
Small circular or rectangular webcam overlay in a corner of the screen share. Enable PIP during a webinar to show your face while sharing slides. The real-time adjustments, as shown in the interface, make it easy to adapt on the fly; ideal for educators, marketers, or remote teams creating engaging, platform-ready content.
